The BIT20 Ensemble is one of Norway’s finest ensembles for contemporary music. This concert will be conducted by Baldur Brönnimann, who has appeared on podiums around the world, and recently conducted Kajia Saariaho’s L’amour de Loin here in Bergen.

Featuring three world premieres from Norwegian composers, this concert will also include Michael Finnissy’s sensual ‘installation’ piece Après-Midi Dada. In Christian Jaksjø’s Multitude – The Practice of Everyday Life, where the composer has laid down the ground rules for a complex system of call and response and Torstein Aagaard Nilsen’s The Season of Blue Lights is written in praise of Györgi Ligeti and the blue tones one can find in folk- and church music. … wenn alle Länder wust lägen … by Herman Vogt concerns itself with the unavoidable destruction of our world, but also mankind’s contribution to this process.

The concert is supported by Kultur- og kirkedepartementet, Norsk kulturråd, Bergen kommune, Hordaland fylkeskommune, Norsk Musikkfond, Det Norske Komponistfond.
