Avgarde is Bergen’s own club for brand new composed music. Here they offer their view on tango: Tango inspired pieces by local composers Ruth Bakke, Glenn-Erik Haugland, Ricardo Odriozola, Jostein Stalheim, Knut Vaage, and festival composer Michael Finnissy. The music is to be performed by some of Bergens’s best musicians, and talented children from the school for culture. Dancers from the club Tango Abrazo, Mazen Kiwan and Maria Filalis, will also help heat things up.
TANGO ABRAZO holds a class for beginners on April 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th, in jekteviken 5. Registration with or without partner: nybegynnerkurs@bergentango.no. Price: 800/650 (stud). More info about the tango club in Bergen: www.bergentango.no.
The concert is a collaboration between Borealis and Avgarde.
