The evening begins with Mathias Spahlinger’s work ”Éphémère” for percussion, piano and other impressive instruments. At times the piano sound blends in completely with the everyday sounds of beer cans and sawing wood. Other times it stands out strongly, like small cultured notes surrounded by trash. "Oiseaux Exotique" by Olivier Messiaen - is one of the most visionary pieces by the French maestro. A large flock of exotic birds are literally composed into the score. Toru Takemitsu offers us dreamy “Signals from Heaven”. In the piece “Naturum non facit saltum” (nature doesn’t leap), Lene Grenager recreates Carl von Linné’s journey to Lappland in 1732, in musical form.
