The band Boris from Tokyo appeals to people who love heavy rock, noise, or Japan; and especially to people who love heavy, noisy rock from Japan. The band name was stolen from a Melvins song, and the grunge pioneer’s heavy riffs clearly inspire Boris’ musical style. Boris is also influenced by the Japanese noise scene; resulting in thundering doom rock.
