Artistic director says 

There’s an austere but nonetheless outrageously delinquent humour to much of Reinholdtsen’s work, which hits home with greater impact than most attempts to deal seriously with the possibilities and limitations of art and the people who make it.  But in presenting Reinholdtsen’s “Faust, or the Decline of Western Music”, is Borealis all but calling in the bailiffs? Will music’s decline inevitably precede its fall?   

Dette er ikke bare et møte mellom Mark knoops fascinerende pianospilling og Trond Reinholdtsens “Faust, or the Decline of Western Music”, men også et møte mellom piano og fingre, Mark Knoop og publikum, fantastisk lyd og god musikkopplevelse. Mark Knoop spiller her for første gang i Norge et om omfattende verk  av Trond Reinholtsen, nylig vinner av Arne Nordheims komponistpris. 

Mark Knoop will be giving the Norwegian premiere of a new work by Trond Reinholdtsen, recent winner of the Arne Nordheim composition prize.
