BEK – Bergen Centre for Electronic Arts

Accessibility to the venue:
Staircase up to the 1st floor, then an elevator up to the 8th floor, and another staircase up to the 9th floor, where the venue is located. The elevator does in other words not go all the way up. 

Toilets:
Two all gender toilets. Unfortunately not HC adapted.

Public Transport:
Bus stop Tollboden with line 11 is the nearest public transport option, 120 meters away. There is bike parking right outside the main entrance, and a city bike stop Nykirkekaien 170 meters awya.

Parking / Drop-off:
You can park at Tollbodkaien, 230 meters away, or drop off people right outside the building’s entrance.

Service dogs are welcome.

Silent Zone:
There is a designated Quiet Room where it’s possible to take a sensory break or have a moment of calm.

Bergen Kjøtt

Accessibility to the venue:
Cafe and ticket foaje has step-free entrance from street level.
Fabrikkhallen (the event venue on 2nd floor) can be accessed by stairs (150 cm wide) through the entrance door, or with the elevator (width 120 cm) from street level through the side entrance on the backside of the building. 

Toilets:
Bergen Kjøtt has all gender toilet facilities, and accessible toilets on the 1st floor (width 90 cm)

Public transport:
Closest bus stop is Skutevikstorget, 50 meters away. There are also city bike stops right by the bus stop.

Parking / Drop-off:
There is dedicated HC parking at Bergen Kjøtt’s private driveway on the side of the building. Parking has to be reserved in advance by emailing info@bergenkjott.org / tilgjengelighet@borealisfestival.no. There is a delivery point / short-term parking right outside the building.

Silent zone:
There is no dedicated silent room, but you can contact the Borealis or Bergen Kjøtt staff to help you find a more quiet area.

Bergen Kunsthall & Landmark

Accessibility to the venue:
During daytime, there is access for wheelchair users on the shorter side of the building – ring the doorbell and someone will come and open. 

During evening events there will be a guard outside the main entrance, who is ready to help you access the building by elevator.

Most door openings are 110cm in width, but the lift between Landmark and Upstairs has a door width of 100 cm.

Toilets:
Landmark has all gender toilets, and an accessible toilet on the 1st floor (door is 100 cm in width)

Public transport:
Light rail stop Byparken is 4 minutes away by foot. Closest bus stop is Olav Kyrres gate and those around Festplassen. City bike stops on both ends of the street.

Parking / Drop-off:
There are no parking spots right by Bergen Kunsthall, but it’s possible to drop people off in front of the entrance. Closest parking is in Grieghallen Parkeringshus or at Bergen Storsenter,  both approximately 200 meters away.

Bergen Public Library

Accessibility to the venue:
Step-free access from street level, elevator to all other floors.

Toilets:
The library has all gender toilets, and accessible toilets on the 1st floor, with door width 100 cm.

Public transport:
Nonneseter light rail stop is 210 meters away, and with bus you have Bergen Busstasjon behind Bergen Storsenter 300 meters away. The closest city bike stop is 200 meters away.

Parking / Drop-off:
Parking in Bergen Storsenter with parking fee, 300 meters away.

Silent zone:
There is no dedicated silent room, but it’s possible to step out or to another part of the library for a break.

Elevators in the centre of Bergen

Accessibility to the venue:
The accessibility varies for each elevator. Click here for an overview of their locations on Google Maps. Remember that there will also be a musician standing in the elevators, så the space to move around will be less than the elevators’ actual dimensions.
Fortunen 3: The building’s entrance door has a small step of 1,5 cm. The door needs to be pushed open – volunteers will be present to help. The elevator door is 80 cm wide. The elevator itself is arched, but has at its widest the dimensions of 140 x 90 cm.
Fortunen 7: The building’s entrance door has a step of approximately 15 cm. The door needs to be pushed open. Before the elevator there are 5 steps of 17 cm with hand rail, and 2 steps of 15 cm without hand rail. The elevator door is 70 cm wide. The elevator itself has the dimensions 150 x 95 cm.
Strandgaten 18: The building’s entrance door opens with a door opener. To access the elevators there are two steps without handrail. This building has two elevators. The elevator doors are 80 cm wide, and the inside dimensions of the elevators are 140 x 110 cm and 150 x 110 cm.
Strandkaien 16: The building’s entrance door needs to be pushed open, and has a step of 10 cm without hand rail. The elevator door is 60 cm wide, and the inside dimensions are 90 x 120 cm.

Toilets:
There are no toilets available for audience in the elevator buildings.

Public Transport:
All elevator buildings are centrally located, close to the Fish Market in Bergen, with bus stops such as Torget and Olav Kyrres gate as some of the closest ones.

Parking / Drop-off: 
The closest parking house will be Sentrum P-hus in Jon Smørsgate 7. Drop-off points will vary depending on the building.

Jiennagoahti (Lyttegammen)

Accessibility to the venue:
Fløibanen (the mountain railway) is accessible both with strollers and for wheelchair users, but Jiennagoahti (Lyttegammen) is placed on Torrfjellet, which is a 10–15 minute walk from the end stop of Fløibanen. Accessing the site is mostly via paths, but involves walking over uneven ground for the last 200 meters, which is not suitable for wheelchairs or baby strollers.

At Fløyen there are accessible toilets, right by the end stop of Fløibanen.

Public transport:
Byparken city rail stop is 650 meters away the Fløibanen light rail entrance, and closest bus stop is Torget, 250 meters away. Read here for Fløibanen’s ticket prices.

In Rozenkranzgaten, 210 meters from Fløibanen light rail entrance, there is a parking house. There is HC parking at Vetrlidsallmenningen 30 meters away, and possibility for drop-off right outside the the Fløibane light rail entrance.

Silent zone:
There is no silent room, but with the open nature all around, it’s possible to step out to take a break.

Laugaren

Accessibility to the venue:
Laugaren is dipping in the water by Nøstegaten 81, right outside of USF Hallen, behind USF Verftet. Click here to find Laugaren on Google Maps. 

The floating sauna is connected to the dock with a little bridge (80 cm width) and has high steps. The door in to the sauna room is also 80 cm in width. 

Toilets:
There is no toilet by the sauna, but during the opening hours of USF Verftet you can use their toilets. USF Verftet has gender neutral toilet facilities and accessible toilets on 1st floor with 100 cm width.

Public transport:
Closest bus stop is Klosteret, 400 meters away, but only bus 11 goes here, which doesn’t have a very frequent time table and does not have step-free access. More buses go from Olav Kyrres gate or Festplassen, approximately 1100 meters away. There is also a city bike stop at USF Plassen, on the front side of USF Verftet.

Parking / Drop-off:
Closest parking lot is behind USF Verftet, with parking fee, 20 meters away, or on USF Plassen, on the front side of USF Verftet, 200 meters away.

Silent zone:
Laugaren does not have a dedicated silent zone, but you can step outside for a break.

Lydgalleriet

Accessibility to the venue:
Lydgalleriet’s main entrance has three steps up from the street. For wheelchair users, a ramp is available for the entrance. Inside, the premises are divided through two levels, and the upper level can be reached by elevator, with door width 120 cm. Both the ramp and the elevator is operated with help from staff.

Toilets:
All-gender, accessible toilet facilities (door width 120 cm) on the upper level of the venue.

Public transport:
Closest bus stop is Holbergsallmenningen, 40 meters away. The closest city bike stop is Comfort Hotel Bergen, 50 meters away. You can also park your own bike right across the street.

Parking / Drop-off:
There is HC parking outside of Strandgaten 198, 40 meters away. Closest parking lot is Holbergskaien or Klostergarasjen, 230 meters away.

Service dogs are welcome at Lydgalleriet

Silent zone:
There is no dedicated silent zone, but you can easily step outside the premises for a break.

Nordnes Sjøbad

Accessibility to the venue:
Nordnes Sjøbad has a wheelchair lift. The easiest way to the arena with a wheelchair is by car, as Nordnes Sjøbad is placed down a steep hill. Call Nordnes Sjøbad on +47 46904965 during their opening hours if you want help with the elevator. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet/ changing room, but no elevator into the pool.

Toilets & Changing Room:
There is a wheelchair accessible toilet/ changing room with door width of 90 cm, but no elevator into the pool.

The all gender toilet can also be used as a changing room (without shower). 

Public transport:
Closest bus stop is Nordnes skole, bus 11, 350 meters away.

Parking / Drop-off:
There is a drop-off point by the wheelchair elevator, but no long-term parking. It’s possible to park at the Aquarium in Bergen. 

Service dogs:
Nordnes sjøbad welcomes dogs, but restricts them to the grass area in the hill above the pool. It will be possible to sit or stand here but sound and view of the concert will be quite limited.

Visningsrommet USF

Accessibility to the venue:
Visningsrommet USF is placed on ground level, with direct entrance from USF-plassen at the end of the hill, with step-free access. 

Toilets:
USF Verftet has all gender toilet facilities. The building has accessible toilets on the 1st floor, with a door width of 100 cm.

Public transport:
Closest bus stop is Klosteret, 400 meters away, but the bus that goes there (bus 11) doesn’t go very frequently, and has height differences. There are more buses stopping at Olav Kyrres gate or Festplassen, approximately 1100 meters walking distance. There are also city pike parking on USF-plassen. 

Parking / Drop-off:
There are two allotted HC parkings available on USF-plassen right outside Visningsrommet USF. These are not necessary to reserve. You can also drop off people here.  

Service dogs:
Service dogs are welcome to USF Verftet.

Silent zone:
There is no dedicated silent zone, but the arena is very big, and it’s possible to find a silent zone with reduced stimuli. Contact the USF or Borealis staff and we’ll help you.

Åsane Kulturhus  

Accessibility to the venue:
Step-free access. Doors have a minimum width 120 cm.

Toilets:
Accessible toilets, all gender toilets and nursing room.

Public transport:
Åsane terminal is the closest bus stop, 650 meters away. Walk through Åsane Storsenter and to the left, and you will see Åsane Kultursenter. You can take bus 3 or 4 to Åsane Terminal. 

Parking / Drop-off:
It’s possible to park at the shopping centers close by. 3 hours free parking before parking fees apply. Delivery by the entrance is possible.

Service dogs:
Yes

Silent zone:
There is no dedicated silent room, but the arena is big, so you can step out for a break. Ask the Borealis or Åsane staff for help.

Hearing impaired facility:
Yes – but the Borealis events at Åsane Kulturhus are acoustic and unfortunately not connected to the audio induction loop.
