Ricardo Odriozola was born in Bilbao, Spain. He studied the violin in Bilbao, Madrid, Rochester (USA) and Copenhagen. He has cooperated with many composers, especially Scandinavian, and has performed as soloist, chamber musician, orchestra leader and conductor throughout Europe and North America. Since 1987 Ricardo has been a teacher of violin and chamber music at Bergen's Grieg Academy, where he also conducts a chamber orchestra and a sinfonietta. He presently holds an Associate Professor position. His first book, titled Opus Perseverat: Five Composers from Western Norway was published in the spring of 2016, and is about five great Norwegian composers with whom he has worked closely. Ricardo is also active as a composer.
