As many other musicians, Trond Madsen, started out in the school band where he played cornet and percussion. Eventually he started seeking the risks and adventures of working within contemporary music with intricate and challenging, but rewarding works. Trond studied classical percussion and conducting at the Grieg Academy and the Norwegian Academy of Music. Trond Madsen is Artistic Director of BIT20 Ensemble.
