Henrik Munkeby Nørstebø

Henrik Munkeby Nørstebø is a musician and sound artist focusing on trombone performance, as well as compositional projects utilizing heavy amplification of the brass instrument alongside external sound sources like half-clarinet and various noise generators. The primitive brass construction continues to be a source of both love and despair, and Nørstebø is utilizing active deselection as a method in a continuous physical and mental process where his patient and researching half keeps crashing with his restless and critical side. He's been focusing on various improvisational musical projects since 2005, and played concerts in Europe, North- and South America, Asia and Oceania. Nørstebø is based in Berlin and Trondheim, where he amongst others work with Audrey Chen in the duo Beam splitter, JD Zazie, new music ensemble Aksiom and the free jazz & pop band Skadedyr.
