Kari Rønnekleiv is a Norwegian violinist and multiinstrumentalist with an education from The Music Conservatory in Trøndelag and from Royal College of Music in London. Kari is now working as a freelance musician with solo projects which take her around Europe, and plays in the Norwegian orchestras Bodø Sinfonietta and Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. She is also a co-initiator of the chamber orchestra Trondheimsolistene. She is one half of the improvisation duo Sheriffs of Nothingness together with Ole Henrik Moe, who won the Norwegian Grammy in 2017 and the Nordic Council Music Prize.
Kari has a burning heart towards a more non-hierarchical structure of classical music and towards society as a whole, which is canalised in her music through exploring an open scale to create a more alive togetherness based on each performers individual sound.
