Rolf Gupta

Rolf Gupta is a conductor and composer, and one of the leading Norwegian conductors of his generation. As a conductor Rolf holds a wide repertoar spanning from early music and romanticism to contemporary and improvisational music. He has conducted over 70 premieres of Norwegian music, and has won several Norwegian Grammys for his recordings, the first one in 1999. He has also won the Norwegian Critics Prize for Music both as conductor and composer. Since 2012 he has also been Professor in the University in Agder, Norway. He holds his own degrees, as cantor, composer and conductor, from the Music Conservatory in Agder, Norwegian Academy of Music, Sweelinck Conservatorium Amsterdam and Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
