Kari Robertson from Edinburgh, Scotland, is a visual artist, teacher and researcher based in The Netherlands. Working primarily with time-based media, Kari has in recent years carefully examined the notions of toxicity and purity, and explored the complex entanglements between nature and culture. As part of her long-term research on these environmental concerns, the artist has taken the Hydrological Cycle as a starting point to think about the substance of water as a collective, living, and sensing archive; an inherently ancient matter, which remembers and retains legacies of all human endeavour. Kari has recently exhibited at CCB, Bogota and TENT Rotterdam.
