Ørjan Matre

Ørjan Matre is a Norwegian composer living in Bergen. He belongs to a generation of Norwegian composers who early in their career explored and adopted the large orchestral format, and a large part of Ørjan's works are therefore scored for orchestra and larger ensembles. He has also worked extensively as a transcriber and arranger of other people's music, and in that context has collaborated with musicians from many different genres, from choirs and folk music, to improvisation, jazz, and singer-songwriters. In 2023, Ørjan is Composer in Residence for Kode, the Art Museums in Bergen.
