Mette Rasmussen

Mette Rasmussen is a Danish saxophonist who lives and works in Trondheim, Norway. She works with improvisational music, and is drawn to everything from free jazz to textural sound works. She explores the natural rawness of her instrument, and experiments with the limits of what the saxophone is capable of, in sound and expression, with or without preparations. For the past ten years she has been a force to be reckoned with on the free improvisation scene both in Scandinavia and internationally. She performs with an energetic presence that makes it an event to see her live – whether as part of Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, with Chris Corsano's band Trio North, or solo.
