BJ Nilsen is a Swedish sound artist and composer based in Amsterdam whose work explores the relationship between sound, space, and perception. Through field recordings and subtle electronic processing, he creates immersive, often site-specific compositions that examine how environments shape the way we listen. Over the past three decades, he has released more than 25 audio works and composed original scores and sound design for film, television, theatre, dance, and visual art.
Nilsen’s practice spans performance, installation, and research, frequently engaging with architecture, ecology, and spatial acoustics.
