Ingvild Austgulen is a writer, slam poet, and rapper from Bodø/Bådåddjo, currently based on Kvaløya outside Tromsø/Romssa. For many years she has worked in the intersection of music and poetry, creating texts that address politics, society, nature, and the relationship between humans and the living world around us. Her strong engagement with environmental protection, agriculture, fisheries, and peace work distinctly shapes both her writing and her musical practice.
Austgulen is a former Northern Norwegian champion in slam poetry, and performs both with her solo project Ingvild Austand as part of the folk-rap duo Opphav. Alongside touring with her own work, she has contributed to several large-scale productions, most recently Det nye Nord, directed by Pål Moddi for Bodø2024 and the Arctic Arts Festival.
