Lisa Dillan is a jazz vocalist and improvisation artist, who first became prominent in the Bodø/Bådåddjo jazz scene. She has extensive experience as a performer, composer, and educator.
Dillan studied music at Høgskolen i Bodø, in Oslo with Sidsel Endresen and Steve Dobrogosz, and continued at the Norwegian Academy of Music in performing jazz and pedagogy. In 2008, she earned a master’s degree in vocal improvisation from NMH, where she has also taught since 2002.
As a performer, Dillan has been active in numerous projects and ensembles. She was part of the acoustic improv trio Slinger with Lene Grenager and Hild Sofie Tafjord, and co-led the improv duo Hipp, hipp… which was NRK’s entry for the Gullpalmen. She also leads her own band, Lisa & the Marias, and has performed in the duo Quite Quiet Project with Asbjørn Erlend Lerheim since 2009. Dillan has also recorded albums of Elvis repertoire accompanied by Lerheim and several of Presley’s own musicians.
