Marina Matsuoka

Marina Matsuoka is a Japanese pianist whose musical education began in Japan through the Suzuki method, a teaching approach emphasizing listening, repetition, and holistic musical development. She has won awards at the Tokyo Piano Competition, Malmö Piano Competition, and Steinway Piano Competition in Berlin.

Matsuoka holds a diploma from the École Normale de Musique de Paris and completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Tokyo College of Music, studying with Katsunori Ishii and Seizo Azuma, later serving as an accompanist at the college. She also completed a master’s degree at the Grieg Academy under Signe Bakke and has been a member of the Grieg Society of Japan since 2021.

Across her work, Marina combines technical mastery with expressive depth, bringing international experience and a nuanced understanding of repertoire that engages and captivates audiences.
