Bring the whole family for a playful, exploratory day at BEK – Bergen Center for Electronic Arts at Nordnes! Every year, Borealis invites children and adults to dive into the world of experimental sound and music, and experience it through play, listening, and creative expression. Don’t miss the fun activities we’ve prepared this year!

Festival artist Sara Marielle Gaup, the composer behind listening piece for Jiennagoahti, Nana Nannán – Solid Soil, will lead two open workshop sessions for children. She will joik and introduce kids to this traditional Sami singing form through storytelling.

Families can also play with an interactive installation featuring contact microphones and resonant objects, created in collaboration with Daiyen Jone and Knut Olai during the nyMusikk and BEK workshop.
There will be plenty of space to draw, play, and be curious — or simply rest! Come and go as you like, and enjoy coffee and waffles between explorations and playful shenanigans.

Presented in collaboration with BEK – Bergen Center for Electronic Arts.
