Transport & Logistics Coordinator
Application deadline: Sunday, 19 October
Several payed part-time positions are now opening up in Borealis!
Borealis is a festival for experimental music that takes place over 5 days each March in Bergen, Norway. In 2026 the festival runs between 11–15 March! Borealis is a place for adventurous listeners, celebrating music that doesn’t fit neatly into any boxes. The festival presents new projects from Norway and around the world that push the boundaries of what music is and how we listen. Festival events span concerts, installations, family events and performances, to listening sessions, exhibitions, conversations, radio and film, and take place everywhere from traditional concert venues and art galleries to swimming pools and libraries across the city.
We have a core team of people working throughout the year, but as the festival approaches, we need more hands and energy to contribute to the realisation of the festival in March. Would you like to be part of our team?

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR & ASSISTANT
*Volunteer Coordinator: starts November 2025, assistent: February 2026
*Ends March 2026
*Workload and salary by agreement
Volunteers make up the biggest workforce during the festival. As Volunteer Coordinator your main responsibility is to recruit and coordinate around 80 volunteers, ensuring the festival runs safely and smoothly. The recruiting phase consists of both physical presentations of the festival and presence through stands in different institutions, in addition to digital promotion and sharing of information with interested groups and organisations. The coordination of volunteers is done through our production tool Crescat. You’ll be working closely with our Head of Production to ensure volunteers are provided where and when they’re needed. During the festival you will be supported by the assisting volunteer coordinator, a separate position that we are also currently recruiting for.
You will also have an important role in keeping volunteers motivated and creating an atmosphere of positivity and community and promoting the positive aspects of volunteering such as work experience, widening of personal and professional network and new cultural experiences.
The workload will be adapted to the right candidate.
Key qualities: You enjoy working with people with diverse backgrounds and are attentive and caring towards those around you. You like systems and keeping things organised and can easily learn new computer based planning tools such as Crescat. You are outgoing, structured, solution-oriented and a good motivator. You understand people and the importance of volunteering, both for cultural life and for the individual.
TICKETING & AUDIENCE COORDINATOR
*Starts November 2025
*Ends March 2026
*Workload and salary by agreement
A smooth and welcoming ticketing experience is key to ensuring happy festival-audience!
As Ticketing & Audience Coordinator, you will be present at all concert venues and act as the first point of contact for our audience. You will be responsible for training and supervising a team of volunteers who welcome guests, check tickets, hand out programs, provide practical information about venues, sell and manage merchandise, and ensure good queue management and flow at the doors. You will manage guest lists, understand various ticket categories, and coordinate TicketCo for ticket administration.
The position requires creating events in our ticketing system TicketCo, as well as publishing corresponding events on our Facebook pages. This requires a high level of structure, attention to detail, and accuracy, ensuring that all information published is correct and easily accessible.
Key qualities: You are organised, structured, and enjoy working with both people and systems. You understand the importance of making audience feel welcome when they arrive at an event. You handle challenges calmly, are a problem solver and want to create a positive atmosphere in a team. You will follow up a team of drivers and help develop schedules that ensure smooth and efficient festival operations. During the festival itself, you will play a key role in making sure everyone has what they need, when and where they need it, while also handling unforeseen needs as they arise. A driver’s license (Class B) is required.
Key qualities: You are naturally organised and comfortable working with tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, or similar.
You have good knowledge of the city’s geography and understand the practicalities of driving in it, including key meeting points.
