We are pleased to announce that Sofia Paulusma has been appointed Managing Director of Borealis – a festival for experimental music!
Sofia Paulusma most recently worked as Project Manager at Kode Art Museums and Composer Homes, where she gained extensive experience in developing and delivering large-scale art projects, including complex productions and international collaborations.
Paulusma grew up in the Netherlands and Kvæfjord in Troms, and has also lived for several years in London before settling in Bergen. She is familiar with Borealis from an earlier stage in her career, having first worked with the festival as an intern during her studies. With a background in music, music education, and leadership, she is particularly focused on creating meaningful artistic experiences and making them accessible to a wider audience. She has worked with music presentation for many years, with a strong commitment to the encounter between audiences and art.
The Board of Borealis looks forward to welcoming Sofia Paulusma to the festival team and is confident in her ability to further develop and strengthen the festival. With Sofia, Borealis gains an engaged Managing Director who is committed to facilitating innovative artistic experiences and fostering a good and inclusive working environment. Paulusma will take up the position in August, and we are excited to begin working with her!
